Planning applications are granted or refused by Wiltshire Council; Tisbury is in the South Wiltshire area. A major project that is in the planning process for Tisbury is the Hindon Lane development. The final 'reserved matters' application was submitted during March 2011, along with a full application for a change in road layout for the entrance to the development from Hindon Lane; from a roundabout to a T-junction.
