Technical information about this website’s accessibility Tisbury Parish Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. Compliance status This website is not compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 (htpps://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/) AA standard. The ‘non-compliances and exemptions’ are listed below. Non-accessible content The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons: Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations Heading structure and consistency Keyboard accessibility to sub-menus Text alternatives for images - Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content). Reflow and magnification Colours, contrast levels and fonts Non-compatibility with screen readers
Disproportionate burden The technical ability of Council staff is insufficient to overcome the issues listed above and a professional company is now assisting with the problems identified. A new website format should be on-line in the near future.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations Some of our PDFs are pre-September 2018 and none are in active administration use. By September 2020 however, we plan to fix these and have the new website up and running. The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. For example, we do not plan to fix pre-2018 agendas and minutes. Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
Preparation of this accessibility statement This statement was prepared on 23rd September 2020. It was last reviewed on 24th September 2020. This website was last tested on 22nd September 2020. The test was carried out by the Clerk to Tisbury Parish Council and involved access to all website pages.
